Privacy Policy

Purpose and scope
HealthApp is a personal, local-first application used by its owner to review health information. This policy describes how the application handles Google user data.
Google data accessed
With the owner's explicit consent, HealthApp requests read-only access to Google Health sleep data, activity and fitness data, and health metrics and measurements. The app does not request permission to modify this data.
How data is used
Google Health data is used only to import records into the owner's local database, calculate personal baselines, identify explainable trends and display private summaries requested by the owner.
Storage and sharing
Google Health data is stored locally on the owner's Mac in a private directory. HealthApp does not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or disclose it to data brokers. The currently deployed workflow does not send Google Health records to OpenAI or other AI providers.
Retention and deletion
Data remains in local storage until the owner deletes it. The owner controls the computer, database and backups and may delete them at any time. Google access can be revoked from the owner's Google Account permissions page.
Security
OAuth credentials and health records are excluded from version control and stored with owner-only filesystem permissions. Access is limited to the local user account.
Limited use
HealthApp's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

HealthApp is informational software. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose disease, prescribe treatment or replace a qualified healthcare professional.
